Cherry Blossom Pink

The cherry blossoms in DC are blooming and it has inspired some pink interior design ideas. My favorite is this pink princess bedroom. It's girly and feminine but not too "Disney princess pink". Even though I tend to focus on items for the home, I had to post this pic of these cute pink pumps. I think I may have to buy them!

4 Home Improvements That Are Overlooked

Interior designing is really great for making your house look the way you want it to and feel like home. Most people immedietly update their homes by adding a fresh coat of paint, cleaning the carpets or just installing new window treatments. These 6 improvements can immedietly update your home and add value.

1.Update your kitchen appliances

This is the most sought after room in your home. If your kitchen appliances are more than 3-5 years old consider updating them. A newer model and more features can help improve the quality of your kitchen. For top of the line appliances consider stainless steel and professional series lines.

2. Flooring is usually an omitted upgrade

Flooring should be more resilient and long lasting, the higher the upgrade is, but the higher return is on investment (ROI). Consider wood, tile and natural stone for flooring options to add value to your home.

3.Upgrade plumbing fixtures in kitchen and bathrooms

If you have standard grade fixtures, such as chrome finish, opt for higher end finishes and materials. Brushed nickel, antique copper and brass fixtures are relatively inexpensive to replace. At kitchen sinks choose plumbing fixture collections that offer matching faucet, control, and sink sprayer. Similarly in bathrooms, choose bathtub/shower/and sink controls that coordinate for a unified look throughout your home.

4.Bedrooms should feel like a retreat

Recessed lighting with dimmers, lighting wall sconces help to create an ambiance which has a high value in appeal and for the value of your home. Upgrade master bathroom with spa-like features, since master bathroom is the part of master bedroom.
